About Prostate cancer


Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the prostate gland, a gland between the penis and bladder which produces a fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. It is the most common type of cancer in men.

Prostate cancer usually stay confined to the prostate where it does not cause any major harm but in some cases the prostate cancer cells spread by breaking away from the prostate tumor.

Prostatectomy is the surgery to treat prostate cancer. It involves surgical removal of all or part of the prostate gland. This operation is also done for other cancers of the pelvis as well as benign conditions that cause urinary retention.


Symptoms of prostate cancer


Some of the symptoms that you can look out for that might indicate you have prostate cancer are-

●    Dull pain in the lower pelvic area

●    Trouble urinating, pain, burning, or weak urine flow

●    Blood in the urine and semen

●    Painful ejaculation

●    Pain in the lower back, hips or upper thighs
